Special Walk: Heritage Walk to Revolt of 1857: Northern Ridge
This walk highlights the landmarks of revolt of 1857 scattered on the northern ridge, the Delhi University area. There are a number of sites of heavy fighting originally held by the rebels and then taken over by the British. The walk covers spots like the Vice Chancellor’s office, Flagstaff Tower, Khooni Jheel, a 14th century observatory named after a mysterious pir, Bara Hindu Rao, Chauburja Mosque and Munity Memorial.

Meeting point : main gate of Delhi University Vice Chancellor’s office. On Vishwavidyalaya Marg, opp. Bonta Park. The nearest metro station is Vishwavidyala on yellow line. One can walk or take a rickshaw from the metro station.
Parking : No parking space at meeting point. The nearest parking is at Vishwavidyalaya metro station.
Important :
• Please note that the walk ends at a distance of about 2.5 kms from the starting point. We end at Mutiny Memorial which is close to Pul Bangash metro station. So it will be easier to walk to Pul Bangash metro station (200 mts from Mutiny Memorial), than walking back to the parking. Please keep this in mind while you travel for the walk.
• The narrative of the walk is in English. Please carry drinking water & wear proper walking shoes.
